Dr.K.S. Gopi a researcher, academician, practitioner, and author of best seller book Homeopathy Easy Prescriber has identified important remedies for this condition 

1. Armoracia Sat 30c is considered a specific remedy for dandruff. This medicine is made from Virginia Snake Root. It has a powerful effect on the skin and contains asparagine
2. Badiaga 6c is one of the top remedies for dandruff. Dandruff sore, dry, tatter-like scalp. Also, apply an oil of Badiaga on the scalp. The flakes associated with dry scalps tend to be smaller and whiter. The condition occurs when your scalp loses too much moisture. Hair care products, the weather, age, and various skin conditions can cause dry scalp with dry dandruff tatter
3. Kali Sulph 30 is another effective remedy for dandruff. Here the scales have a yellow color. Larger dandruff flakes usually have a yellow-tinged or oily look.
4. Phosphorus 30 is best for dandruff with hair falling in large bunches. Also, there is severe itching of the scalp. Severe dandruff can cause a person to scratch their scalp repeatedly causing inflammation in the hair follicles and damage. Also, telogen effluvium causes hair to come out in handfuls
5. Thuja Occidentalis 30 is an effective remedy for dandruff and it is prescribed for white scaly dandruff. Hair dries and falls out, more in damp weather. Sensitivity to hair care products (contact dermatitis) or a yeastlike fungus (malassezia) that feeds on oils on the scalps can cause white scaly dandruff
6. Graphites 30 is effective for dandruff which is accompanied by skin eruptions like eczema. Scalp scaly with intense itching and humid. Falling of hair occurs. Seborrheic dermatitis is one of the most common skin conditions that can cause scabs on the scalp with dandruff. Also, yeast overgrowth on your scalp (atopic dermatitis) can cause scalp eruptions with dandruff
7. Lycopodium Clavatum 200 is prescribed for dandruff with itching of the scalp and headache. Worse after a hot bath. Hair falls out in bunches on combing causing baldness in single spots. Irritated oily skin causes itching in dandruff conditions.
8. Natrum Muriaticum 12x is best for dandruff which is worse on the margin of the scalp. White dandruff alternating with catarrh or loss of smell. Hairline dandruff occurs when skin cells build up occurs due to too much oil on your scalp flaking off. A combination of medicated shampoo & internal remedy can address this
9. Sanicula 200 is prescribed when scaly dandruff occurs over the scalp, eyebrows, and other hairy parts. The patient has frequent sweat on the back of the head. Dry skin, seborrheic dermatitis, and contact dermatitis can cause this condition.
10. Calcarea Carb 30 is effective for dandruff where the root of the hair is painful on combing due to dandruff. Dandruff can cause inflammation of the scalp and increase sensitivity at the root of the hair. Calcarea carb strengthens hair roots and prevents hair fall due to dandruff conditions
11. Calcarea Sulph.30 is effective for dandruff with eruptions. Dandruff on the scalp causes eruptions with thick yellow crusts. Eczema or pimples due to dandruff. Falling of hair.
12. Medorrhinum 200 can be used as an intercurrent remedy for dandruff. Dandruff with itching of the scalp. Hair dry and crispy.

• Arsenicum alb 200 for dandruff with itching and dry scales that come out when scratched. Scali is sensitive. One dose a week, for 2 weeks.
• Sepia Off 200 for dandruff in circular patches like ringworms, itching not relieved by scratching, and female patients having irregular periods. One dose a week, for 2 weeks.
