Still another, a musician said, "looking back nearly all my illnesses have come from school. Certainly the rheumatoid arthritis did, as I was accused of breaking a very old Chinese plate, which I never did. This was such a shock and the result was my hands became so stiff that I had to give up my music."

In other people, the effect of shock are repressed. They appear calm and unaffected at the time, but later on, perhaps weeks, or months or even years afterwards, the results of the shock may make themselves feel-a breakdown, a skin or heart complaint, any form of physical ailment for which no apparent cause can be found.
